Happy Monday to all of you.
Today we are going back in time. For some, it might feel like it is yesterday since I haven’t been blogging all that long. If that is the case, just humor me!
I received many emails and questions in response to my post on How To Remove Veneer. In addition, it has been pinned many times over but since it was one of my first posts, I thought I’d revisit it.
Do you have something like this that you need to tackle?
Be inspired,

Turning lifetime passion into livelihood. It's about time! I'm Shari. I am a 40-something wife, mother, corporate professional turned design stylist, avid sports fan, and usually exhausted 24/7 keeping up with it all. I love my family, my home, my work...and the chaos that comes with it. I also happen to adore my beagle, Scout.

This is awesome. What a beautiful finished product! Pinning this for sure!
I had no idea it was that easy! That's awesome!
it looks amazing! i have removed veneer this way, too- sometimes it works well, but i have had some glitches before, too! the dresser looks awesome- i love the legs being the wood finish!

Ugh. I have done this before, and it is one of my most-hated tasks! I will be saving your tips in case I ever have to do it again!
I am SO glad to see this post. I have a table I truly love… nothing expensive, but bought from a friend who I love… you know how that goes. Anyway – the veneer is chipped, so I've long wanted to remove it. I considered simply using a heat gun, or perhaps an iron. You've encouraged me – you make it do-able! Thanks!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this! I was just at St Vinny's yesterday looking at a China Cabinet I desperately wanted to make over. I didn't buy it because two pieces of the wood were veneered and I didn't think I could work with that. Now I know how and I can go back and get it! Hooray! Thank you!
THANK YOU!!! I have a table that I need to do this too but I had no idea how!!
Great information Shari! Thanks for sharing.
That's a good method! I tried borax on my wood floors and that worked. I have a bunch of old cabinets I salvaged from an old barn. I will need to try this! Thanks- I am glad I stumbled upon you at Tip Junkie.
You've really transformed this dresser and it looks wonderful! The finish on the body looks really cool. What type of paint did you use- chalk paint? It seems to be the go-to paint these days! Visiting from Kristin's party.
Thanks for the tip. I may need to refer to this in the near future, so i'm pinning it.
Thanks for showing us how to do this! I have been scared to try anything with veneer, but this makes it look so managable. And I love the finished piece!
Wow – I just did this too. But was so inventive to use a towel and an iron. Nice job!
Wow…you make it look so easy – and what results! Beautiful job!
That looks fabulous Sheri! Thanx for showing us how to accomplish these fabulous results!
I REALLY needed that!!! I'm always slowly chipping away at old veneer, usually making nice gouges in the process….
This project is awesome! Such great info to know, thank you!! It would be super cool if would come by today to enter my giveaway for a $50 Lowe's gift card and to link up to my very first party! http://thespacebetweenblog.wordpress.com/2012/01/31/imagine-the-impossibilities-link-party-1/

Great job on the top. I did a tutorial on removing veneer too but I will try your idea of a wet towel and iron next time. I used a heat gun and putty knife and it came right up.
Ah-haa…I know this will come in handy! Thanks
Laurel
Beautiful transformation! Thanks for the tips and thank you for linking your lovely project to Potpourri Friday!

Wow that looks amazing……I'd love for you to share this @CountryMommaCooks Link & Greet party going on now-Sunday midnight…have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for the tips! You've done a lovely job with that piece as well, beautiful!
Looks great! This is a wonderful idea. I may have to try it on our dining room table! Visiting from TT&J.
I'm a DebbieDoo's graduate, but I didn't know how to remove veneer. I have a table to the left of me right now that I love. The bottom is gorgeous, but the top not so nice. I though I would have to cover it of paint which I did not want to do. So a big thanks for letting me know I can remove and stain. I have my fingers crossed that you will share your post with Sunday's Best going on right now. Sharing is a good thing. You chest is lovely. Great job!
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing this awesome tip. I'll never pass up a ruined veneer dresser again!
Hi, Shari
What a great piece. Thanks for sharing and I found your lovely blog from The Southern Institute link party. I am a new follower. Would love for you to stop by http://www.homesweetbutterfly.com. Thanks and have a great week.
Vanessa
Oh, good tip. Over the summer I removed the veneer from a desk and without this trick it was much harder than what yours looks like and the results were definitely not as good.
Great tips! Your dresser is a beauty! Thanks for sharing!
