I was finally able to sneak some time in to get some fall decorating done. Not a lot, but enough to satisfy me for now. Things have been a little crazy around here but I couldn’t go on any longer without getting my house fall-i-fied.
First stop – my mantel.
I wanted to do something a little different from the deep hues and keep things light and neutral in my great room.
My organic substitution for maple leaves and bittersweet?
Dried hops from Indulge.
About 15 years ago, we came across one of our favorite finds. An Oregon Duck vintage football from the 50’s.
You can’t have fall without football.
My wood blocks made their way to the mantel. One of my readers, Rita, commented that they look like antique type set letters. I love that – since that is the look I was going for.
The “full length” shot reveals the muted tones against the stone. Very subtle and calm.
Just what we need right now after a long day.
I guess you could say this mantel is unisex -
Hops, football and antlers for him.
Autumn, pumpkins and candlelight for me.
I’ll share a little bit more of the rest of the house later on in the week.
Have a great day today!
