DIY: Bling Your Candle With Thumbtacks

So, have you all recovered from last night? It is a new day, new month and holiday to prepare for so go get your morning coffee and get ready for another DIY.

This is a blink-and-you’ll-miss type of DIY.

Ten minutes start to finish.

Get yourself a candle, cookie cutters and thumbtacks.

Using your cookie cutter, press and score the design into the candle.

Simple is best when it comes to the shape.  Too many corners and curves are hard to maneuver with full-sized tacks.

Start placing your tacks on the outline of your shape.  Once you are comfortable with how you are placing them, push them all the way in.

Once you’ve done the outline, fill in the shape completely – overlapping tacks as you go to create dimension.

Then enjoy!

You can use small decorative pins or upholstery tacks for a different look – but the concept is the same.  

I’m thinking a Christmas tree or stocking with silver tacks…or a simple monogram of each guest, placed at each place setting on the holiday dinner table
