Furniture Debut: Hazelnut

Good morning,

How do you like your nuts?

Shelled, or in-shell?

I can tell you how these guys like them…

Turkeys @ Turnstyle Vogue

…any possible way they can get them.

Darn turkeys.

Thieves.

Wild thieves.

About 30 or so wild thieves.

But, I ask you the question because I have another hutch to show you, with a couple of options.

First, here are the BEFORE shots:

Hazelnut Before (2)

Again, this hutch originally had scrollwork at the top and in the middle.  It was removed and streamlined like I have done in the past.

Now, it is my Hazelnut (aka those filberts those darn turkeys are stealing from our orchard!)

Back to those options.

As you can see, I added a wire panel on the back and designed this (per Alyssa’s suggestion) so that you can leave the wood panel off for a French Country style…

…or screw the wood panel back on for a Farmhouse look.

With the wood panel on, the wire stands out more and gives the back texture.

With the wood panel off, it has a totally different feel – and is great for those who want their wall to show through.

Darn turkeys.

If they keep eating our filberts, they may find themselves on a big silver platter come that 4th Thursday in November!

What a beauitufl hutch!! Love how you transformed it…the color is beautiful too!! I like the back on, behind the wire.

  2. Looks great, Shari. I love the color. I miss having turkeys running around. I wish some would swoop down and eat all the black walnuts that are all over the ground in our yard! They are messy!

  3. Fantastic hutch!! I love the color. We have wild turkeys in NJ but they just walk around and are lazy by my house.

  4. Love! I like it shelled. ;) Those turkeys look yummy too. LOL!

  5. Yeah I’m pinning that, the wire on the back LOVE it. But you have a nut orchard???? Seriously??? You’ll find me amongst the turkeys.

  7. Great job on creating a different look. I love the hutch without the wood backing. The wire is so unique. I’ve seen it, of course, on doors but not on the back. Love it. Great job.
