Good morning and Happy Birthday to my first – Alyssa, and my last – Joey!
I remember this day 23 years ago.
And I remember this day 11 years ago.
Both were amazing…
….you both are amazing!
Grad school and football.
Anecdotes and Sarcasm.
The Civil War and Friday Night Smackdown.
Work and play.
So different, yet so alike in many ways.
And loved.
Now, just for you, I got the table all fancied up for birthday dinner.
I went all out for you.
Can’t you tell?
Layers.
Textures.
Color.
Lots of color.
Autumn color.
Candlelight and turkeys.
Fresh flowers.
Sunlight streaming through the windows on a Pacific Northwest November day.
That is all my doing of course.
Just for your birthday.
My cupcakes.
With squirrel toppers (just for your dad.)
Yep.
The table is set.
Ready for birthday dinner.
Okay then – be sure to let me know when dinner is ready!
I’ll be in the den with my feet kicked up thinking about how lucky you are that I brought you into this world!
… and 11 years ago.
Today.
Happy Birthday!! We love you!

Under The Table And Dreaming

Turning lifetime passion into livelihood. It's about time! I'm Shari. I am a 40-something wife, mother, corporate professional turned design stylist, avid sports fan, and usually exhausted 24/7 keeping up with it all. I love my family, my home, my work...and the chaos that comes with it. I also happen to adore my beagle, Scout.

Sweet very sweet. How ironic they share the same day. Lovely table Shari and a Happy birthday to them.
That is crazy they have the same birth day. But what is really nuts are those cupcake toppers.
Bliss
Happy Birthday Alyssa and Joey, have a great year!
How fun that both children were born on the same day! Your table looks wonderful for the season AND for celebrating birthdays. Those little squirrel cupcake toppers are darling!
Happy Birthday to Alyssa and Joey! What great kiddos you have! (And way cute cupcakes too!)
Wonderful they share a day and I can imagine at times how they wish they had “their own special day”. The joy of youth huh?
BIRTHDAY WISHES ALL AROUND from Oshawa Ontario.
* may I ask what is that shade on the wall? in some shots it appears black and others a very dark brown…inquiring minds like mine and all, would love to know.
How fun ~ sister and brother sharing a birthday! Your table looks beautiful. I like the idea of calling for “take-out” while you prop your feet up
Have a wonderful evening with them.
Happy Birthday!
Beautiful post and gorgeous photography. Very creative! Love those gorgeous fall colours. Warm and cozy setting.
Thanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
Hi Shari: What a pretty tablescape–I love the leaf plates and the plaid napkins in the wine glasses! Happy birthday to your kids–hope they had a great day.
How fun to have a double Birthday! Your table looks beautiful, as do your children!! Makes for a wonderful celebration!
