Good morning!
Today I have a little rustic beauty for your holiday décor and all it requires a walk outside to gather some sticks.
How sweet is this?
Go gather your sticks, then trim and strip them until they are clean from twigs, leaves, etc…
Cut the sticks the same length and begin putting your star together.
Start with tying them together with small-gauge wire.
Then go over that with jute string to cover the wire and give it the hand-tied look.
Be sure to tie all intersecting joints.
Note: When connecting your sticks, place some behind and some in front to keep the depth of the star balanced and create dimension.
Also, although you may not be able to see it in the pictures, I sprayed the stars with Krylon Glitter spray. If you haven’t used it before, it is a very light mist of glitter with a clear coat. It just adds a little sparkle.
You could also wrap lights around them if you wanted.
The imperfect lines are what make them perfect.
Rustic beauty just in time for Christmas.
Be inspired,
BLOG NOTE: Through the holiday season, Turnstyle Vogue will be posting each day. Yep – 7 days a week of holiday DIY, tips, thoughts and some furniture thrown in here and there. Please be sure to stop by and say hi – or share your own!

Turning lifetime passion into livelihood. It's about time! I'm Shari. I am a 40-something wife, mother, corporate professional turned design stylist, avid sports fan, and usually exhausted 24/7 keeping up with it all. I love my family, my home, my work...and the chaos that comes with it. I also happen to adore my beagle, Scout.

Those are just ‘simply’ beautiful!!!
Love this idea! now to find some branches!!!
This is such a great idea, love it.

I love them. Very earthy.
So cute Shari. I just did a project with sticks tonight too. Now what to do with them. Merry Christmas to you.
