Good morning!
I want to show you a quick tip as to how you can get yourself one of those cool architectural candleholders you see at stores like Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware.
Something along the lines of this…
and this…
I love architectural salvage and will do anything to find a way to get it into my home somehow. You may recall my robe/towel hooks I made using old molding.
Or these caddies using old fence posts and stair spindles.
Today though, no effort is required.
Just stop by your local ReStore, flea market, antique store or recycling center and pick up some old posts or large spindles such as this one.
Put a candle on it.
Score!
For winter:
For spring:
Eww… sorry for the blurry picture. Must have hit the wrong setting
A candle holder this size will cost anywhere from $50 – $100 in a home décor store.
You can get the look with a piece of salvage anywhere from $5 – $25.
And it is the REAL thing. Can’t beat that!
Be inspired,

Under The Table And Dreaming

Turning lifetime passion into livelihood. It's about time! I'm Shari. I am a 40-something wife, mother, corporate professional turned design stylist, avid sports fan, and usually exhausted 24/7 keeping up with it all. I love my family, my home, my work...and the chaos that comes with it. I also happen to adore my beagle, Scout.

I love cheap and clever!!
Shari….I love those…will be on the “hunt” for those pieces!!
I love these, they are so pretty,
Cynthia
I ‘m going to ReStore in a couple of days. Nice idea!
I have some old posts this would be perfect for! Thanks for sharing!! By the way, where did you get your antlers? I’ve been trying to find some for my table. Thanks!

I was able to pick up an old post, about 25″ high at a barn sale for $5.00. I intended to put a candle on it until I saw the hole down the center. I picked up a lamp kit, for $6.95, and a shade (not the style I wanted) but for $2.00, good enough. I had to file a channel for the cord to nestle in. I think at this point I need a disk to attach to the bottom to make it less tippy. I am really happy with the result.
Perfect!
love these candle holders! I’ve done so many. I just love using bits and pieces, don’t you? Looks great Shari!
