Be Prepared For Winter Weather Exposure With This Set-up!

Hey there.

Well, the snow that we had here has now been replaced with icy mornings.  Jack Frost has many versions of  winter wonderland beauty.  We still have a ton of snow not too far from home, but the scene is a little different now here.

When I grabbed the de-icing spray out of back porch cabinet this morning, it reminded me about the post I did last year about having everything handy for mornings like this

As in, winterizing a space with all the necessities.

I thought I’d share some of those ideas with you again since many of you may not have been around here ago Winking smile

Winterzing A Cabinet With Winter Weather Supplies

Flashlights for walking Scout in the dark.

A shoe brush to help from tracking the outdoors in.

Garbage bags for whatever, whenever.  You never know!

Winterized Cabinet Winter Weather Supplies (2)

Dust pan/broom.

Umbrellas – although we rarely use them here in Oregon.  Pacific Northwesters think umbrellas are for wimps.  Unless you are on your way to a wedding after just having your hair done, you will most likely get heckled if you are holding an umbrella.

So let’s just say they are for guests Smile

Rags.  Lots of rags.  I have a dog and an 11 year-old.

Finally, the de-icers.

For the sidewalk and driveway…

…and the cars.

And don’t forget the insulators to put over your outside faucets.

Close the doors, and it just a piece of furniture on the porch.

Form, function and freeze-control.

If you don’t have a porch, or a cabinet…then just set up a designated area in the garage or wherever your last point of entry/exit is in the house.

  1. What a great idea! It was in the 60′s here yesterday, and raining today.
    Have a wonderful day!,

    ps. pinning this :)

  2. That is a cute little cabinet and I adore organized storage. Interesting about the umbrellas. Silly question, but do you just let your hair get wet when it rains, or are hoods and rain hats more fashionable?

  3. Excellent idea and looks good to boot! I have pined this post to share with others here – http://pinterest.com/buildingonabudg/pins/. Diane
