DIY: Sweets For My Valentines With A Little “Cheese.”

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Remember the fun little gift & candy boxes I made last year for the kiddos? The ones with Dr. Seuss quotes?   Turns out, they were big hits with the kids.

In fact, even though you would think Joey would be most appreciative at the age of 11, it was my adult children who had the most fun with them  I think.

This year, I decided to go a similar route with these…

Valentine Trinket Boxes

Well, sort of.

I started out with simple, unfinished pencil or trinket holders – whatever you want to call them.

I found these at the local craft store for $2 each.

They have the little picture frame inserts in them for the kids to pop a pic in, but in the meantime, I decided to add a little cheese to the sugar.

Four, ridiculously, stupid, cheesy jokes.

Perfect.

*Why don’t cats play poker in the jungle?     A:  Too many cheetahs.

I stamped some wood tags with their monogram…

*What did the bartender as Charles Dickens when he ordered a martini?   A:   Olive or twist?

Cut out some hearts…

*Did you hear the joke about the germ?  Nevermind, I don’t want to spread it around.

Added some Sixlets (who doesn’t love those??!) to these little plastic test-tube-like containers…

*Ruth rode on my motorbike directly behind me.  I hit a bump at a high speed and rode on ruthlessly.

And then threw in a big handful of the good stuff.

Instant Valentines for our Valentines.

Yes. Not only for my 11 year-old, but for the twenty-somethings and the 18 year-old as well.

Someday, grandchildren will bring an end to that!  Smile

Certainly nothing extravagant, but sweet it definitely is.

And a little cheesy too.

Thank you.  I’ll be here all day.  Winking smile
