I pulled into my driveway after taking Joey to the orthodontist yesterday – and having just stopped at the post office to pick up six packages that I had there waiting – to find eight, large boxes on my back porch from the man in brown.
I love it when that happens.
I’d love it even more if it was all for me (I know…I say that a lot. I think I must invoke at least three of the Seven Deadly Sins every time I say it.)
I’m really not a greedy, envious or gluttonous person.
I just play one on this blog.
Honestly though, I spend A LOT of time scouring my vendors and everywhere else to find unique items to put in the store. I have to love it or I won’t order it. And when you love everything you order – it makes it both easy – and difficult – to sell.
When you are in the home décor retail business, the holidays creep up fast and we have to start planning for them in the summer. My orders were placed long ago and will be trickling in over the next few weeks to add to the fall items I had for my open house a couple of weeks ago.
These arrived today and I thought I’d share them with all of you.
The gift boxes are made from reclaimed wood and recycled metal.
The red ribbon box is 10x10x7.
The green ribbon box is 8x8x6.
Aren’t they great? The ribbon is from recycled oil drums just like these are.
I know most of you can’t stop by and check them out in person, but…
perhaps they can give some of you a DIY idea.
If so – you must show me what you come up with!
I can see all kinds of holiday treats inside.
The box by itself will make a great gift, so anything inside will be a bonus.
Almost Christmas in July – just missed it by three weeks.
Which means we are three weeks closer to Christmas!
Besides Christmas, I have another once-a-year event to share today…
Yep, today, Mr. Honey-Do and I celebrate 26 years of marriage.
He will tell you that one gray hair is for every time I say “I have an idea…”
Which means he acquired about 50 of them just last week when I told him I was moving our white slip-covered furniture to the den and getting new furniture – saddle leather (!) – to put in the family room ( I think I actually heard him call me a name under his breath, ha ha.)
But if you ignore all the gray, it seems just like yesterday…
Happy Anniversary John!
And to all of you…
