So yesterday I showed you my fall mantel.
I’m kind of sticking with the whole “simple” thing throughout my home.
Some of you may notice that there is something different about this room.
Well, first of all, the white furniture is gone (moved to the den.)
And I’m missing a couch.
Uggghh. I’m so bummed. I ordered new leather furniture and the chairs arrived promptly…
… but the couch is on backorder.
Being “in the business” I can tell you there is nothing I hate more than backorders. Especially when it is for something for my own personal use!
In the meantime, I moved our barrel chairs to the space where the couch will be so we can still have some seating while we wait.
I didn’t want to let “the wait” keep me from putting some fall things out so I went ahead and did my thing.
I changed out the leather ottoman we had here for this vintage wooden table. The Aggravation board that my dad made for us is a staple. Joey and I have mini-tournaments all the time before he goes to bed so it needs to be at arm’s reach.
I also moved the yellow trunk that has been in here the last five years out and replaced it with this primitive. Since the top has planks and rivets, I used the tray to provide a flat surface for my lamp and décor.
You will always find a variety of pillows in my living spaces.
And throws. Lots of throws.
This angles shows you a depth of wood layers and textures.
Who doesn’t display old paint brushes on wooden boxes as fall décor?
How about jumbo acorns?
I pull out the hops wreath every year. One of my favorites!
I use my vintage metal olive basket for a lot things but for now, it is all about the sugar pine cones.
You can’t do fall without, at least, one owl!
Finally, you all know that we love our football around here and I always use an old vintage football as part of my fall décor. I’ve used it in my wreath, on a shelf, on my mantel and other places.
This year, it is paired with a very old helmet that Alyssa and Jason gave to us as a gift recently.
A simple display on top of my icebox, but you can’t get any more “fall” than a football and helmet!
I’m working on both my den, and my office, whenever a free moment, or two, presents itself. I will try to show you my progress soon.
Have a great day!
