How did the week go for all of you? It went by too fast for me – not that I’m complaining that the weekend is almost here of course.
And is it just me, or does it feel like September is whizzing right by?
As you may remember, I keep a collection of bottles on hand just in case I decide to make one over on a whim.
I haven’t done anything with them in a long time so my stash keeps growing as people give them to me.
Because of that, I was able to have a variety of shapes and sizes for today’s super-simple Halloween project.
I’m not a big Halloween person, but these are fun!
You need a collection of bottles and/or jars and some apothecary labels that you can either make yourself, or purchase through Etsy, Ebay or wherever you can find them.
To get started, remove all labels and print from your bottles and clean them well. If you have a bottle where the logo is printed directly on the glass, you will have to sand it off with a low-grit sanding block. Try not to scratch it!
Select your labels doing your best to match up the shape of the label with the shape of the bottles.
(NOTE: Before anybody says something, “Gipsy” is the preferred English spelling)
Once you have your matches, then all you need to do is glue them on. I used a glue stick and it worked perfectly.
See how simple it is? You now have a finished apothecary bottle…
How fun is this for Halloween?
They’d be perfect across a mantle or displayed in a crate like this…
Or how about peeking out of an old homestead – if you just so happen to have one of those.
To save time, I purchased my labels. They are still handmade – just not by me.
A few dollars vs. a few hours or more of creating graphics. It was an easy decision – but I know there are many of you who would enjoy that process and be very creative with it.
So on that note…
PS: I am having problems with some of my graphics and social media icons showing up on my site. I’m trying to get it figured out but it may be a while. Sorry in advance!
