I’ve been at the store all week getting it ready for the new retail season. Can you believe August is almost over?
Craaaazzzzy. Gone are the summer accents of citrus hues, beach inspired treasures and outdoor activities.
While I can feel the change in the air, it seems odd to walk into my store and smell the fall scents, see the dark woods, and rustic textures.
But they are there and it is time to embrace it.
Not such a bad gig, really.
I’m not finished with everything, but thought I’d share some pictures of what has been done so far.
When you walk in, you are greeted by the scents of the season such as Autumn Gatherings, Pecan Pie, Cornucopia, and Cornbread.
Plus a lot more…
You can’ do fall without crows and deer, right?
Can you spot the antique Windsor rush chair underneath the wreath? I have a set of two.
And the ever-so-popular mice are back this year…
Deluxe down pillows of very high quality…
The BEST thing about fall.
And not only do I have two turn-of-the century pigskins to offer, I also carry the Gooseberry Patch cookbook line that includes a Tailgating cookbook.
I will be using it every Saturday starting next weekend.
I’m loving these large metal post boxes that can be mounted by your door…
In addition to cast iron, aged tin is “the thing” this year.
U-pick! My “Apples” similar to this one sold within a handful of minutes of putting on the shelf.
As you can see, burlap is still a big part of fall decorating. And they thought it would be a “trend.”
I think it has definitely outgrown that label.
This vintage rocking horse can be traditional or eclectic depending on what kind of decorating style it is merged with.
I have a great new line of canvas and leather pillows coming in next week to offset the burlap and linen that I now have. I can’t wait to show them to you.
Americana is always in season, right?
Real cotton formed into wreaths and garlands. So cool.
Here is The Pioneer that I showed you last week all decked out…
That’s it for now. I’m heading to Washington this weekend to help my sister paint but will be back at it all next week –
– and preparing for the season opening kickoff next Saturday with my tailgating cookbook in hand. Can’t wait!
